The Rare Wildlife of the Northern Frontier
Venture into Kenya's rugged northern semi-desert. Samburu National Reserve offers a unique ecosystem home to the "Special Five"—wildlife species found almost nowhere else in the country: the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, and the Gerenuk. Witness life along the Ewaso Nyiro River, where leopards roam and elephants bathe in the red northern dust.
